Divine outpourings of Lalla (Lalleshwari):
"You are the Sky, You are the earth
You are the day, the very air, the night
You are the grain-offering, sandal paste, flowers and water too
You are everything, O Lord
...So what can we offer You?"
Kashmir Shaivism
Please contemplate on 4 features of Kashmir Shaivism. Would love to elaborate.
1) Universal Spiritual Philosophy - beyond the considerations of caste, creed, gender, etc. Everybody is welcome.
2) Supreme Unity of the Individual Self with God - We and everybody have emanated from Him and are just part of Him. Rev. Swami Laxman Joo would explain Kashmir Shaivism as "Para Advaita", that encompasses and transcends all traditions.
3) Diversity - As I said Kashmir Shaivism accepts all the aspects of life in totality. No doubt, God has made everybody differently. We should respect diversity as divine.
4) Divine Grace (Anugarh) - it is independent of human efforts and the only way to transformation / realization. Grace can come on those whom He choses. This is a very subtle aspect. What can humans do? Make effort to be worthy of receiving His Grace.
“The only thing immortal about me is my reputation,” said Shakespeare years back in Othello. This is what will make Shri Virendra Ji immortal. His quest for supreme knowledge, wide exposure to all the leading and sacrosanct religious texts of the world, in-depth study of diverse cultures and thoughts, keenness in universal spiritual philosophy and a working experience of decades as a top corporate notch makes him unique in many ways and loved world over.
